Airbnb: Case study

For this week’s #LunchNLearn hosted by Bhawna, the #Omnifin team had a lively and engaging discussion while analyzing a case study on Airbnb’s business model. From how the idea germinated as a result of Brian Chesky and Joe G. being unable to afford their rent to how they transformed it into the world’s largest accommodation provider – and everything in between.

Founded in the year 2008, Airbnb is a community-based online platform for listing and renting local homes. It connects hosts and travelers and facilitates the process of renting without owning any rooms itself. Moreover it cultivates a sharing-economy by allowing property owners to rent out private flats.
