Create the perfect CV

CV represents a person. We make the interviewee know about us with the help of our CV and preparing a good CV is the first and foremost thing we have to do before getting into any company for any post whether big or small. Here\’s a list few things which we should always keep in mind while preparing our resume.

  • Don’t fudge

Never ever fabricate your CV with stuff about which you have no idea. Make sure that you keep your CV real and the interviewer believes in all that is written in the CV. Try not to overstate your resume.

  • Make it keyword friendly

Add keywords with the help of tools like Google Keyword Planner; Ubersuggest etc in case you are planning to upload your CV. Search for the common words which are generally used in resumes and add them in your CV. This will help search engine find your CV.

  • Keep it up to date

Don’t ever make the mistake of carrying an old CV with you. Always keep updating your CV with the recent activities in which you have involved yourself. Your CV helps you to sell yourself to the company and people never buy out-dated old products.

  • Use figures

Try to use numerical figures in your CV. If in the previous company you had increased the sales then mention the figure by how much.

  • Don’t make grammatical errors

The interviewers do look for grammatical and spelling errors in the CV. Make sure that you check the spellings, your tenses are correct and there are no other language errors in your CV.

  • Be precise

Don’t write long stories and family history in your CV because no one has the time to read so much. Moreover, no one is interested in knowing so much. So, just write things to the point. Try not to extend your resume beyond the 2nd or the 3rd page.

  • Tailor your CV

Different companies have different job descriptions and different requirement even if it is for the same post. Never carry the same CV everywhere. Always modify and tailor your CV according to the needs of the company.
